Outsourcing was initially associated with labor and information technology, followed by call centers and human resources/recruitment, however, it is business services and processes that account for the current wave of growth and a boon for young professionals. There is a real talent shortage in the professional ranks and many organizations are finding it easier to go to where the professionals are and outsourcing entire business functions.

Professionals above the age of 45 are getting more jobs compared to the young people as the supply of young talent is decreasing in Australia. Alison Monroe, head of HR firm SageCo. states that the workplaces in Australia would have increased the number of professionals above the age of 45 by the year 2020.
