Honda considers XFL a fumble and yanks ads
Article Abstract:
Honda has pulled out its ads aired over XFL after expressing disapproval over the show's extreme content and floundering TV ratings. Gerry Rubin, CEO of Honda ad agency Rubin Postaer and Assoc, said XFL programming was not consistent with what was promised them. Nevertheless, XFL Pres Basil DeVito said their advertisers were happy, with 70% ad time sold for the regular season and 80% for the playoffs. Its ratings over NBC, UPN and TNN were also with the networks' expectations.

Beer ads: what are they doing?!
Article Abstract:
Anheuser-Busch and Heineken are taking a dig against each other in their respective beer commercials. Anheuser-Busch describes the Heineken beer as 'skunky' and its drinkers as yuppie snobs in its TV ad while Heineken dismisses Anheuser as 'your father's brew.' Both brewers are fighting for the same affluent market, with Anheuser-Busch positioning Budweiser as America's best-selling beer, and Michelob as a premium beer. On the other hand, Heineken is intent on reclaiming its title as the US' top imported beer from Corona, which it lost in the 1990s.
