PanCanadian chief's pay package sank 51% in '98

PanCanadian Petroleum Ltd. has posted a profit of C$150 million in 1998, down 55% from 1998. The company eliminated 200 jobs, or 11% of its workforce, to control costs in 1998. PanCanadian' shares decline by 24% in 1998 as a result of weak crude oil prices. The company's president and CEO David Tuer reported a 51% reduction in his compensation from C$1.23 million in 1997 to C$605,269 in 1998. >PG B4
