Parting could be sweet sorrow for Sprint CEO
Article Abstract:
Sprint Corp Chief Executive William Esrey stands to receive $470 million should the deal between his company and MCI WorldCom become a reality. This is because the change-of-control principle, which sees top executives of acquired firms depart from their posts, will allow Esrey to reap a huge amount of money through stock options. Industry experts see the logic of the payout since Sprint's stock grew by over 2,550% since he came into the firm.
