Cattle prices plunge as herd numbers reach record high

A new report from Statistics Canada showed that cattle prices in Canada dropped sharply while cattle herd numbers rose to record levels. The report, which may reflect fears over mad cow disease, showed that 15.7 million cattle were on farms in Canada.
