The problems include a failed restructure of the National Soccer League, and internal fighting among the members of the Soccer Australia board, including chairman Tony Labbozzetta.

Soccer's hard man

Frank Lowy, chairman of the Australian Soccer Association (ASA), took charge of Australian soccer administration and successfully liberated it from incompetence, self-interest and petty political intrigue. Lowy hopes that issuing a rallying call would help launch Australia to the 2006 World Cup and translate the sport's mass participation numbers into a nation.
