Article Abstract:
The federal government of Prime Minister John Howard has plans to do away with state rights, thereby making it easier for commonwealth governments to intervene in areas where states might not have any future. Arguments by several ministers including Transport Minister John Anderson, Education Minister Brendan Nelson, and Health Minister Tony Abbott to include their respective ventures under the commonwealth control are presented.
