Privatization
Article Abstract:
U.S. President Bush supports shifting part of the Social Security tax revenues into personal accounts. In May 2001, he appointed the President's Commission to strengthen and reform the Social Security program, which will preserve the benefits of current retirees and those nearing retirement, return Social Security to a sound financial footing and enable younger workers to invest part of their payroll taxes in individual savings accounts outside of the Social Security system.
