Irenyx Data Group Inc, an Internet service provider (ISP) based in Courtenay, British Columbia, hopes to overcome competition from large corporations by complementing its ISP business with an increased focus on training and consulting work. The company was established in 1990 by Kevin Battersby, a 42-yr-old former photo technician with the Canadian Armed Forces. Irenyx's ISP provider division called the Digital Ark provides services to around 6,000 subscribers on Vancouver Island.
