'Prudence' in budget will curb spending: Martin agenda may be constrained
Article Abstract:
Ottawa Prime Minister Paul Martin, in his tenure as a finance minister, set aside $3 billion for contingency funds and $1 billion for 'prudence' fund as a safety cushion to ensure that Ottawa stays out of deficit. The coming federal budget of 2004-05 would set aside additional $1 billion for prudence due to expectations of additional economic uncertainties.
