The trifecta of patriotism, public holidays, and overeating are a proud tradition in the US, and Australians appear to be following suit with poor diet, lack of exercise and too much junk food. A report released August 2005 by the National Obesity Taskforce states 20% of Australians under the age of 18 are obese or overweight.
