H5N1 better known as bird flu is the lethal virus that kills every chicken it infects and it is zoonotic, meaning it infects both animals and humans. Retired professor Graeme Laver who was instrumental in developing the keystone anti-virals agrees that H5N1 can be pandemic but doesn't think it will be bird flu and that the government is not prepared for the virus that will sooner or later hit the world.
