Quebec fund titan backs AIC bid

Toronto, Ont.-based Mackenzie Financial Corp. has received a hostile takeover bid of $3.9 billion from C.I. Fund Management Inc. Burlington, Ont.-based AIC Ltd. bid has obtained the backing from Montreal-based Caisse de Depot et Placement du Quebec for a rival bid for Mackenzie.
