Resource firms turn to selling off divisions
Article Abstract:
Paper maker Smurfit-Stone Container Corp of Chicago, IL, will sell a 41-million-share stake in Abitibi-Consolidated Inc of Montreal. The value of the stake is projected to reach C$684 million. In another deal, Nova Chemicals is selling its 38.8-million state in energy marketing company Dynegy Inc of Houston, TX. The value of the stake is expected to fetch $645 million based on the latest closing price of Dynegy shares.

High-tech broker hurt by misrouted order
