Forzani Group Ltd., which is the largest sporting goods chain in Canada, has reported a decline in sales following the start of the Iraq war. Canadian retailers reported that the decline in sales due to the Iraq war should not continue as long as the decline following the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Retailers expect modest Yuletide sales
Article Abstract:
Retailers expect only modest Christmas season gains in 2000, and the Retail Council of Canada predicts a 3 to 4 percent increase in sales, which is about half the growth rate of 1999. Holiday sales add up to about $550-million, with roughly 6 per cent from e-commerce.
