The 2001 tour of Australia by the British and Irish Lions rugby team is leading up to the first of three tests in Gabba, Brisbane, but the international match could descend into a riot. At the game between the Lions and New South Wales at the end of June, a violent confrontation resulted in numerous players being sent off, and management fear further violence.
