Article Abstract:
The Justice Dept, FBI, National Infrastructure Protection Agency and international authorities have launched a global manhunt for the perpetrators of the 'love bug' computr virus which jammed electronic mail systems from Asia to the US and other parts of the world on May 4, 2000. The computer virus originated from the Philippines. While racing to the West, it replicated itself more rapidly than any previous virus including the Melissa virus which fouled up computers in 1999. The virus is so called because it is spread via electronic mails featuring the subject line 'ILOVEYOU.'
