SLM builds U.S. presence with Bankline acquisition

Bankline Holdings Inc., based in Kansas City, MO, has been acquired by SLM Software Inc., based in Toronto in Ontario, Canada, for $20 million. The deal encompasses the payment of $8.6 million in cash, while the rest of the amount will be paid through a combination of stock swaps and performance-based stock options at a strike price of $9.81. SLM Software offers electronic transaction management software to financial organizations, while it is understood that Bankline offers similar services to the US banking market.
