Sams Online to shut suffering retail Web site

Toronto, Ont.-based Sams Online Inc., which is operated by Sam the Record Man, has shut down its e-commerce operations due to poor sales and heavy financial losses. Sams reported a loss of $510,000 on sales of $415,000 for the second quarter ended Dec. 31, 2000.
