Skye Pharma to sell 20% interest to U.S. firm
Article Abstract:
Skye PharmaTech Inc, based in Mississauga, Canada, will sell 20% interest for C$15 million to an unidentified US-based diagnostics company. The deal also ensures that Syke would be receiving royalties from the sale of its stroke panel products by the US firm, which will also oversee the production of the panel. Skye uses biochemical markers that detect the release of certain brain molecules into the blood system for its rapid and early diagnostic test for strokes.

Canadian Medical Labs loses zeal for Med-Chem takeover
Article Abstract:
Canadian Medical Laboratories Inc could be dropping its bid for financially-troubled Med-Chem Health Care Ltd and instead will look for opportunities in the US. The company said that its enthusiasm for Med-Chem has waned as it sees more growth possibilities in the US. Canadian Medical, which expects to spend C$20 million more for further acquisitions, does not think that the Med-Chem purchase will enhance its stock's performance.
