Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, which helped to build a $77 million grain terminal in Gdansk, Poland, has taken a $38 million write-off related to the troubled project. The 150-metre-long storage facility, which represented Canada's largest post-Communist investment in Poland, has been left unfinished due to a dispute between business partners.

SaskPool reports steeper quarterly loss

Saskatchewan Wheat Pool posted a higher loss for the second-quarter period ending January 31, 2001. The company posted a C$18.8 million loss for the period, compared to a C$14.8 million loss during the same period last year.
