Saskatchewan Wheat Pool is trying hard to end its image as a farmer-controlled collection, proposing to scrap its dual share-class structure and open itself to an outright takeover. SaskPool is making the changes with an aim to tap into equity markets, in part to pay down some of its $299-million debt before interest payments rise in July 2005.
