Top music sellers go online to fight free providers
Article Abstract:
The three-biggest music producers in the world are finally making their products available through the Internet. Seagram's Universal Music Group, EMI Recorded Music and Sony Music have decided to make some of their products available through online retail outlets. The companies, which have been criticized for taking too long to use the Internet as a marketing and ditribution tool, made the move in an effort to counter such firms as MP3.com and Napster.

Going once: EBay in talks about TV show
Article Abstract:
eBay announced on Oct 17, 2000 that it is exploring a possible television version of itself in negotiations with a number of broadcast and cable networks. The show, which is being shopped as a daytime series that would air on Monday through Friday, would feature items available for bidding through eBay and would also feature profiles of many of eBay's 16 million users. One of the networks the online auction site is discussing with is Disney's ABC.
