Schwab offers managed accounts for the wealthy
Article Abstract:
Charles Schwab, the largest discount broker in the US, is introducing a program, dubbed as "Managed Account Connections," to attract wealthy clients. Under the new program, Charles Schwab will provide special services to independent fee-based financial advisers instead of commission-based brokers. The setup allows its affiliated financial advisers to offer clients, who are willing to invest a minimum of 25,000, with separate accounts other than mutual funds. Separate accounts, which are run by money managers, allow clients to own stocks directly, customized them and pick a tax-managed account to minimize capital gains and dividends.
