Hudson's Bay expands loyalty programs in Asia

Hudson's Bay Co. of Toronto, Ontario, has signed deal to launch its loyalty reward programs in the Philippines and Singapore. The company has sealed a deal with Citibank in the Philippines and Singapore's Advanced Information Marketing Pte. Ltd. to unveil its rewards program, in which are offered incentives of different kinds for the merchandise customers buy. Hudson's Bay's loyalty division, which offers management, marketing services and reward merchandise to its customers, is projected to add C$3 billion to the company's yearly sales in five years.

London retailer denies Weston bid

Selfridges PLC has denied getting an offer from Galen Weston, after speculation that the Canadian is offering US$645 million for the company. Selfridges, which is a subsidiary of Sears Holdings PLC, operates a 540,000-sq-ft store on London's Oxford Street. Any bid by Weston for Selfridges will be done through his private company, Wittington Investments Inc. Weston, chairman of George Weston Group Ltd. and owner of the Holt Renfrew department store, has been known for buying upscale stores and for owning British landmarks.
