Barrington board urges investors to reject bid
Article Abstract:
Barrington Petroleum Ltd.'s board of directores is urging company shareholders to disapprove Sunoma Energy Corp.'s offer of C$222 million to takeover the firm. The board called the offer as financially inadequate and opportunistic in nature, since it is effected upon the basis of anticipated rise in natural gas prices. Prior to the reccommendation to investors, the Calgary, Alberta-based company already took actions to find another buyer and has adopted a poison pill to thwart the takeover offer.
