Stronach's grip too firm for Tobin, letter suggests

Former Newfoundland premier Brian Tobin might have foretold his sudden exit in August 2004 from two companies controlled by auto parts magnate Frank Stronach five weeks before it took place. US investment manager Greenlight Capital Inc., which owns nearly ten percent of MI Developments Inc., the real estate firm that Tobin headed as chief executive, states that Tobin made no secret of the influence of Stronach, MI's chairman, over the company and the fate of the CEOs who disagreed with him.
