The total size of the Australian primary and secondary market for autographed sports and celebrity memorabilia is estimated at about AUS$50 million to AUS$60 million a year. However, local experts believe that over half the autographed items are fakes, possibly accounting for millions of dollars of rip-offs, with the maximum frauds involving AustraliaEs greatest sporting legend, Sir Donald Bradman.
