The open confrontation with Kim Beazley has put Simon Crean, the Labor leader, under intense pressure in Australian politics, increasing the likelihood that he would stumble. As the voters are not impressed by the disunity, it would be harder for Crean to improve his own poll ratings and those of the Australian Labor Party.
