The brain produces its own version of a chemical called anandamide, which reacts with delta9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) that is produced after use of cannabis to give an artificial high for the drug users. Anandamide can either induce appetite or control appetite when used properly and these properties make the use of cannabis a safe drug under medical supervision.
