The forestry industry is one of Canada's largest employers and the top net exporter of products. But few politicians stand up for the industry when it is wrongly maligned by environmental groups, and the New Democratic Party in British Columbia imposed heavy taxes and onerous laws on forestry firms.

The dishonesty of the Parti Quebecois

The wording of the Oct 30, 1995 sovereignty referendum, drafted by the Parti Quebecois (PQ), essentially asks Quebec's voters to allow PQ leaders to negotiate Quebec's withdrawal from Canada. The referendum is compared to a union leader's effort to seek a strike mandate from union members.

Quebec's separatists should be ignored
Article Abstract:
The Parti Quebecois's narrow loss in Quebec's Oct 1995 referendum on separation from Canada has many separatists claiming that the rest of Canada must negotiate with them to meet their sovereignty demands. In fact, the rest of Canada should isolate the discredited separatists.
