Too few good men: Iraq is bleeding the American military dry, and conscription may be the drastic means of staunching the wound
Article Abstract:
The war in Iraq has resulted in the shortage of troops and increased the requirement for specialist troops in the United States (US) army, thus forcing the Pentagon to consider proposals for reintroducing the draft especially for enrolling Arabic speaking personnel. The National Guard, which consists of former servicemen and civilians interested in serving the US have also been posted in Iraq, thus disrupting their careers and increasing their resentment.
