Pope John Paul II was a harsh critic of American culture, he disapproved the nature of consumerism of its people, and he opposed the wars America waged on other countries. But the most striking legacy of Pope John Paul II in the U.S. was his influence on younger priests and lay Catholics, and due to his influence, the number of Catholics in the U.S. continues to grow.

Senator Hillary Clinton railed against United States President George W. Bush and urged for greater mandate for fellow Democrat John Kerry in the Democratic convention. Though Senator Clinton was unhappy of her speaking role, as Kerry is hers future competitor, but she insisted that she did for the party.
