Turned off ... by the networks
Article Abstract:
Australian TV networks are losing their viewers, according to an analysis of A.C. Nielsen figures for 1992-1998. Viewership in Sydney declined 13% overall, 31% among children, 21% among teenagers. Observers attribute the decline to an increase in watching videotapes, cable and pay TV, and too many commercials on network TV.
