UNITED AIR WINS RIGHT TO DEFAULT ON ITS PENSIONS

As part of its plans to restructure and find its way out of bankruptcy, United Airlines will terminate its employee pension plans. Cutting benefits to the approximately 134,000 workers currently covered, will save United Airlines $3.2 billion over the next five years.
