Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau had made allegations that two major U.S. financial institutions aided Houston, Texas-based Enron Corp. in manipulating financial data. But the case was concluded after Citigroup Inc. and J.P. Morgan Chase and Co. agreed to a $308 million settlement.
