TSX won't force vote on MTS bid for Allstream

The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) would not force Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. to seek shareholder approval for its 1.7-billion dollar bid for Allstream Inc. TSX stated that its would not interfere with the merger, a move that should pave the way for the creation of Canada's third-largest telecommunications company and an emerging rival to industry powerhouses Bell Canada and Telus Corp.
