Visa starts password service to fight online fraud
Article Abstract:
Visa is starting a new user identification program, known as Verified by Visa, for credit card customers who shop online. For now, the system is optional for cardholders, online merchants and banks that issue credit cards. Visa estimates that only 6 percent of cards will get passwords in the first year.
