Watchdog fights Astral purchase of radio stations

Montreal, Que.-based Astral Media Inc.'s proposed acquistion of ten radio stations from Montreal, Que.-based Telemedia Inc. has been opposed by Canada's Competition Bureau. The deal, which is valued at $225 million in cash and stock, is part of Astral Media's expansion-by-acquisition startegy.
