Article Abstract:
H and R Block Inc has taken its tax preparation program offline since Feb 14, 2000, because of a problem that has allowed some of its clients' financial information to be available to others. The company, which has about 300,000 users for the online tax preparation site, cited nine cases that prompted the shutting down of the program. H and R Block said that the problem occurred after a programmer tried to increase the site's response time.
