The $49.99 game is also enhanced by highly intelligent villains and gorgeous graphics with the player in charge of the protagonists. The subtleties in movement and sound evoke the action and the characters' personalities. 3Do's Portal Runner game for PlayStation 2, $49.95 is also a puzzle-solving game like Ico, part of 3DO's Army Men series. With a silly plot, the game is mostly gawdy fun in a prehistoric setting with a feisty heroine in Vikki, she of many costume changes.

The slide-show aspect that plagued its predecessors is gone, and the narrative is more lively.
