Bloc Quebecois leader Lucien Bouchard might resign from Canada's House of Commons and assume Quebec's provincial premiership in the wake of the Oct 30 referendum defeat, or he may choose to remain in parliament as leader of the official opposition. Prime minister Jean Chretien likewise faces challenges.
