Working Women Dominate the Jury For Stewart's Trial
Article Abstract:
The jury for Martha Stewart's securities fraud case has been selected. It consists of eight women and four men. The women are working professionals, and the defense hopes they will be more sympathetic towards Ms. Stewart's business success. Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum has ruled that the defense may not raise questions about the prosecution's motivation for charging Stewart, or raising concerns that her case evolved only because she is an accomplished and famous businesswoman.
