Indochina considering merger with Rayrock

Vancouver, Brit Colum-based Indochina Goldfields Inc. is reportedly studying a potential merger deal with Toronto, Ontario-based Rayrock Resources Inc. Indochina Goldfields, which owns development projects and exploration facilities for base metals and gold in Kazakhstan, Burma, Indonesia, Thailand and South Korea, reports C$31 million worth of long-term debts and cash holdings of $65.6 million. Rayrock Resources, on the other hand, has a projected output in 1998 of approximately 100,000 gold ounces.

The Bloomberg reveals that Falconbridge Ltd., of which Norando holds 59 per cent, remains a favorite of analysts due to its mix of nickel, copper, lead and zinc assets.
