Zemex to buy U.S. pigment maker
Article Abstract:
Industrial minerals and metal processor Zemex Corp of Toronto, Canada, is acquiring Texas-based pigment maker Hiltox Corporation of America for $11.6 million. Hiltox produces buff colour titanium dioxide pigments for paints, industrial coatings and plastics. Zemex, which posted a profit of C$5.4 million on sales of C$104 million in 1998, is projecting an increase in sales to C$130 million in 1999 as a result of its acquisitions and new facilities.
