Development Planning and Management of Petroleum Reservoirs Using Tank Models and Nonlinear Programming
Article Abstract:
The development, planning and management of a petroleum reservoir is studied. The continuation of development drilling eventually becomes unprofitable due to declining production of the reservoir. Nonlinear programming methods are used to solve the control models. Tank-type reservoirs with water drive and a three phase oil reservoir are modeled. Graphs and tables are used to present results.

A Geometric Programming Model for the Optimal Design of Wastewater Treatment Plants
Article Abstract:
A mathematical model is developed that describes the interactions in a wastewater treatment plant. The paper shows how cost functions of wastewater treatment plants can be synthesized from a plant model. Existing optimization techiques and codes are powerful enough to deal with treatment plant models. A graph and a diagram of a wastewater plant are included. Tables contain numeric results.
