Careers in pharmacology: an Australian perspective
Article Abstract:
Pharmacology courses in Australia are required subjects for students studying science, medicine, pharmacy, dentistry and veterinary medicine. Meanwhile, graduates of pharmacology can expect to find careers in the pharmaceutical industry, government agencies such as the Community Services and Health Dept. and research in academic institutions. Meanwhile courses have also been created that provide adequate training in pharmacology for graduate studies in the biomedical sciences.

Careers in pharmacology: the German perspective
Article Abstract:
Germany has recognized the need for training in basic and clinical pharmacology and has issued guidelines that require medical students to take pharmacology courses. Research is currently divided into pharmacokinetics, toxicology and pharmacotherapy. Meanwhile an undergraduate program for clinical pharmacology entails one year of training and a four years of studies in a medical school. Industries also employ pharmacologists who have backgrounds in chemistry and biology.

Careers in clinical pharmacology: present status and future academic perspectives in Japan
Article Abstract:
Japan still lacks an adequate supply of clinical pharmacologists despite the high demand for these specialists in a country that has a large market for pharmaceutical products. Pharmacology subjects are part of training in medicine, but few hospitals can offer advanced studies in clinical pharmacology and therapeutics. Japan has relied on US-trained pharmacologists for its needs.
