Galactoarabinan: An Exfoliant for Human Skin
Article Abstract:
A new study from Oak Brook, Ill.-based Westman Associates Inc. examines the use of galactoarabinan, which is a natural polysaccharide, as a non-irritating exfoliant for human skin. The study concludes that the replacement of AHAs by galactoarabinan is advisable in order to reduce or eliminate skin irritation.

Aloe vera quality control

In 1992 Ron Pelley and others developed a standard for comparison of aloe vera products. Maltodextrin was discovered in imported aloe vera powder. Being composed mainly of sugars, decomposition can produce lactic acid fermentation, which can subsequently be used to determine the abount of time since harvest.
