Germany: Linde betting on medical gases
Article Abstract:
Now that the European Commission allowed Linde to sell IN-Omax (Inhaled Nitric Oxide) as a drug, the German company intends to expand its medical gas activities also in Europe. The drug, which is used for the treatment of newborn babies suffering from hypoxic respiratory failure, is sold via INO Therapeutics Inc. of New Jersey, a subsidiary of Linde. In 2000, the group's medical unit INO contributed EUR 450mn to Linde's worldwide turnover of EUR 3.8bn in the gas area.
