How to Fix Western Alienation
Article Abstract:
The author describes the 1980 Canadian election when Pierre Trudeau was swept into power by seats in Ontario and Quebec. There was no member of Trudeau's Liberal party elected west of Ontario. At that time the author lived in Saskatoon and that was the beginning for him of the feeling of Western alienation. He considers it somewhat inevitable as most Canadians live in Ontario and Quebec.
